Parish Mission Statement
We, the people of St. Peter’s Parish, Mother Church for Catholics in the Midlands, will live the grace of our Baptism by:
Celebrating the Sacred Liturgy
Living the life of the Gospel;
Providing Christian formation
Caring for those in need;
Welcoming opportunities to evangelize and reconcile;
Offering our time, talent, and treasure to advance
the kingdom of God.
With our eyes fixed on Christ Jesus, our hearts and minds open to the Holy Spirit, we dedicate ourselves to the praise and honor of God our Father. We will live as faithful members of the Catholic Church, embracing its teachings and traditions.

St. Peter’s Christian Formation is committed to providing opportunities for spiritual nourishment. We recognize that our growth in faith is a lifelong journey, undertaken in community and guided by the Spirit. Through our individual programs, we strive to foster the growth and development of each individual member of the community through all stages of life.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that the Christian home is the place where the first proclamation of the faith is received. For this reason the family home is rightly called "the domestic church," a community of grace and prayer, a school of human virtues and of Christian charity (1666). Recognizing that “family” applies to all household dynamics and is the primary community in which faith is shared and nurtured, we therefore put ourselves at the service of the family to help form young Catholics.
Since proclamation of the Gospel always begins with the Church community, we continue to focus on “total parish faith formation”, which is intended to support the family, St. Peter’s parish and the universal Church.
The goal of St. Peter’s Christian Formation is to provide opportunities that offer active learning that translates into active faith. |
