A Letter from our Rector

Dear Friends and New Parishioners of Saint Peter’s:

I joyfully welcome you to the Capital City’s Catholic Parish. I say that because Saint Peter’s was established over 200 years ago and for approximately 140 of those was the only Catholic Church in the Midlands. As one of the few urban parishes in the Diocese, we have a tradition of welcoming visitors and the downtrodden with warmth and dignity.

This website tells the story of a growing and thriving parish. You’ll note we have a growing variety of programs and activities targeting nearly all age groups and stations in life. The only thing we’re missing is YOU! We need your hands, ideas and commitment to help us deepen our life of prayer and commitment to living out the Gospel. There may be areas you see where we could do more. We want to learn from and grow with you. So implement your ideas and let us know. Energize us by your faith and help us by your example!

This is the most diverse parish I have been called to lead. It makes me grow every day, and demands that I rely more and more on the Lord and not my own strength. I pray that becoming a parishioner of Saint Peter’s will have the same impact on you leading you closer to our Lord!

Fraternally,

The Very Rev’d Canon Gary S. Linsky, V.F.

Rector
