Welcome to Faith Formation

Growth in faith is a lifelong journey, undertaken in community and guided by the Spirit. Most of us use words like Religious Education, CCD or Catechism to describe faith formation and often only think of faith formation in terms of children’s religious education and sacramental preparation. Our growth in faith is not exclusively about gaining knowledge about our doctrine and faith traditions; it is also about our being formed in Christ. Today the Church uses the all-encompassing phrase “Christian Formation” to identify the process for growing in our faith for all stages of life.

Saint Peter's invites you to expand your concept of Christian formation to include all aspects of our growth in faith, from parent baptismal preparation through adult education and study of sacred Scripture. We also believe that the family is the primary community in which faith is shared and nurtured. The entire Church community, beginning at the parish level, puts itself at the service of the family to help form young Catholics.

Proclamation of the Gospel always begins with the Church community.  Therefore, we continue to focus on “total parish catechesis” (faith formation), which is intended to support the family and this community. We are excited about the many opportunities for active learning that translates into active faith. Please take time to look through our website to see what opportunities we are offering you and your family to grow in your faith.

If there is something you would like to see offered at our parish, please contact us. We are constantly expanding our ministry and looking for new ways to meet your needs.
