Please wear a mask to Mass - September, 2021
The Columbia City Council has passed an ordinance requiring the wearing of masks in all public spaces, including churches, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. A difference between the past ordinance and this one is that it authorizes the fire marshal to enforce and fine those who are noncompliant.
To that end, and in the spirit of charity and good citizenship, the Rector and staff of The Basilica of Saint Peter strongly urge you to wear a mask to Mass, unless you have a medical condition that precludes it. If you do not have a mask, we can provide one for you; please just ask an usher or a staff member.
