Join our team! Bilingual (English-Spanish) Parish Administrative Assistant (Full-Time)
The Basilica of Saint Peter is seeking a bilingual (English-Spanish) Administrative Assistant to staff our welcome center and provide administrative assistance to our operation from Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM. Applicants should have at least 2 years’ experience in an office setting, excellent communication, time management and multitasking skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic and be able to exercise sound judgment. Applicants should be proficient in the use of Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, Publisher. Database, content management system (CMS), social media and Google products experience a plus. The most successful candidates will have an understanding of, and commitment to, the Basilica of Saint Peter and its mission.
Areas of responsibility:
Greets parishioners and visitors and provides building access. Provides information and/or direction to their destination on campus.
Answers the phone, provides information, and directs phone calls. Manages and distributes messages for staff.
Notifies staff when they have a phone call or a visitor.
Accepts and distributes packages and mail.
Orders and maintains office supplies for entire operation.
Accepts monetary transactions from parishioners and visitors for various purposes.
Maintains schedule of Mass intentions, mails Mass cards, and manages distribution of Mass stipends.
Records Sacraments and produces sacramental certificates.
Maintains a clean and orderly foyer, welcome center, and copy center.
Provides oral and written translation support to pastoral and administrative departments upon request.
Supports Basilica staff with administrative tasks as needed and as capacity allows.
Reports to the Director of Parishioner Engagement & Communications.
